The Cobra Days- 048

For the record, MGS3 in general makes me so happy that my stomach hurts. I need help.

OKAY! This strip was fun, trying to make it look like it has gotten darker...since, y'know, time has passed, Joy has taken care of Fear's icky injury as much as she could. I was not particularly interested in showing her suturing it. I felt kinda light-headed when I tried looking up reference pictures for that.

A coupla things I find interesting:

First, that The Joy managed to effect The Pain, of all people, by pretending to cry. Well...Pain's kinda gullible. And as some of you may have caught on by now, I'm not depicting him as the brightest of the Cobra members by any means. Besides, while he may be a prick who enjoys pain and hurting others, when it comes to a crying woman...hey, a woman's a woman. He's almost sweet in that respect. Who knew? ..Of course, on the other hand, he cannot tolerate crying men...hmmmmmmm, do we know any of those...? >.>

Second, the idea of Sorrow's emotion having an up-side: manipulation. See, I assigned all the Cobras zodiac signs (when I post their profiles, you'll see all the fun stuff I've done regarding that), and the one that fit Sorrow best happens to be MY zodiac sign, Cancer the Crab. We Cancerians are supposedly rather good (better than other signs, I guess) at making people do favors for us when they feel sorry for us, or guilting them into doing things...hence, manipulating people. I won't lie, I've done quite a bit of that in my time. I'm actually *cough* pretty good at it. >_> Anyway, I would have to imagine that The-friggin-SORROW would be especially skilled at this. ....Um, though of course, getting people to feel sorry for you by crying does not necessarily work all the time...some people don't like weakness, and extend no sympathy to those who display weakness. *coughFEARFURYCOUGHcough*

Oh, and in case people are wondering if it's a good idea to give someone who's in shock some morphine, evidently it's all right. I'm only going off of what I've read, folks, I really don't know anything about medicine. All I know is I really wanted to use morphine in this comic at some point, and that The Fear's incredibly cute when he's drugged up.

...SPEAKING of Fear, now you weirdos can't deny that he's wearing pants. See?! *point* LAST PANEL! PANTS! And they were ALWAYS on! ...if you have no idea what I'm ranting about, don't worry, just disregard me.
