Wheeee, almost to #50!

Okay, I've been doing more research than usual for the upcoming stuff regarding d'Astier and the resistance and all that jazz...it's kinda neat, I feel much better versed in the happenings of World War 2, now...before, just about all I knew was "Pearl Harbor-FDR-Churchill-Stalin-Hitler-Nazi-Jew-Hiroshima". ........Which is actually a GROSS oversimplification of what I knew, but honestly, it IS rather sad how public schools simply touch upon a glossed-over, neat and tidy version of...

Um. So anyway! I've also had to fictionalize it a bit, obviously, but...y'know me. Obsessed with accurate little details. So watch out, pretty soon yer all gonna get a nice little history lesson... >_> In the meantime, d'Astier is the first REAL character to appear in this comic! Egad!

Allll right, lots of tiny things I hafta mention. One: screw realism (yup, I said it!), I know the whole base thing doesn't make a whole lot of sense...but...yeah, OH-FREAKIN'-WELL! XD;;
Two: apologies to you readers who haven't played the MGS games...seeing as the "la li lu le lo" thing is pretty much central to the joke of this strip...ah well
Three: ...Ah, yes, "chto" means "what" in Russian (last panel)
Four: in the first panel, Joy's saying "Are you drunk?!"...and btw, I think it makes perfect sense that she should be able to speak French quite fluently ^.^ ...that is, she probably knows a smattering of a few languages...part of her *cough* training...
Five: IT'S THE RETURN OF FEAR'S TALKING BUTT!!!! Okay, sorta...this time it looks more like his leg. For the record, I REALLY hadn't anticipated the difficulty involved with Fear having dialogue while slung over The Pain's shoulder...it worked so much better before I tried drawing it. It wouldn't SEEM to be that hard, now, would it? ...And by the way, yes, he's still numb and happy...otherwise, Pain would probably not be holding him. D:
Six: Ahhh, and if there's one thing I'm proud of in this strip, it is the LIGHTING. I can't help but compare it to the earliest strips where I had NO shading whatsoever.

Uh. I'm done. Wow, how'd it get so late? Time flies when you, uh, procrastinate on comic strips...
